Technical site roles

Confusion is common because several technicians are involved

The question of what an aparejador is appears often in construction and renovation because the client usually encounters several technical roles at the same time. If their functions are not explained clearly, it is easy to assume they all do the same thing.

Understanding the aparejador role helps make sense of the process and know who is responsible for what during execution.

What it contributes on site

The aparejador takes part in the technical control of execution, in the constructive reading of the project, and in the coordination of decisions affecting the material development of the works. Its role is not secondary but part of the proper functioning of the process.

When this function is well integrated, unclear interpretations, accumulated mistakes, and issues caused by poor technical follow-up are reduced.

Why it should be distinguished from the architect

The architect and the aparejador are not interchangeable roles. Even though they collaborate within the same process, their scope of work is not identical and the client should understand that from the beginning.

At BAU, we work on this coordination with clarity so that each technical agent acts within well-defined responsibilities and the project moves forward with less friction.
